Hello Everybody! We are new to raising chickens and ducks. We found this site and it has been great to see what others have to say about their feathered friends.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, my family and I are new to chickens. We got three Rhode Island Reds about a month ago for our middle son's FFA project.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Three
(3) What breeds do you have? Rhode Island Reds
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Internet Search
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? We have "The Bug." My wife and I just purchased 15 ducklings. They are Murray Mcmurray's Fancy Duck package. Since we did not receive any runner ducks in our 15 ducklings, we just purchased 10 more black runner ducklings. So, I guess our hobby is raising birds right now
Boy are they messy.

We have three boys and one girl. My wife has three cats. I work for the state of Georgia and my wife stays at home and takes care of everyone. Yay for Domestic Engineers!
