We live in Burleson, TX. We moved from Virginia Beach in 2004. We love it here and plan on raising our youngest (11) here in Burleson. We ordered 2 Female White Longhorn, 1 Silver Laced Polished Standard Male, 3 Buff Brahma Bantams St.Run, All Pullet Rainbow Pack Female. Purchased from Meyer hatchery. Any feedback on pros and cons are appreciated. We won't get delivery until May 11 or so.

My wife and I were raised not too far from where you live (Blue Ridge for her, Greenville for me), and I have relatives even closer to you (Weatherford, TX). Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens. You have a nice mix of breeds coming. The first breed I ever had (about 50 years ago) were Brahmas, and they were gentle giants. Good luck with your chicks.
