Newborn Chick.

Hi, I was wondering if my newborn chick needs water, he/she is one day old. I read that they do not need food for 3 day's because they absorb the yolk, is this true and is it the same thing for water? Thank you!

Yes they are fine in incubator for 3 days without food/water. I usually take mine out on day 2

We have a hen taking care of it, is it still okay?

Think about it. You should have food and water for the mom. If she has water then it follows the chick does when it needs. Unless you have them set so only she can reach them.

Of course we thought about it and we got a small watering device for the chick and something small for it to eat out of. Don't bother answering my post again.
