Hey everyone!
Exciting news that I found out over the weekend is that I'm pregnant (yay and scary)!
Something that has been lingering in the back of my mind though is can I keep my hens when my baby comes?
We have a okay-sized backyard that we let the chickens free-range around and my concern is that one of my chickens is aggressive and with free-ranging comes a lot of poop everywhere. Also, they can be loud at times and I don't know if that could cause an issue for a napping baby.
What has everyone else done in similar situations?
Thanks!

Congratulations on your Baby.

Infant Humans have been growing up with Pets and Live Stock for thousands of years, chickens would be one of the least worrisome pets infants could be growing up with. Your baby will be just fine.

I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old, neither are bothered by the hoard of chickens, ducks, guineas, pigs, goats, and dogs that are constantly making some ruckus outside, they tune it out if its an everyday sound. My little boy is a very good sleeper and can literally sleep through an earthquake, my little girl wakes up when you touch the doorknob to the room she's in yet both sleep soundly through animal sounds. I say keep them all and in a few years you'll have a cute little animal lover helping with all the things

First off, congratulations!!!

You can definitely keep the chickens, it's great for your Child to grow up around them, to learn and stuff. Just wash your hands after caring for the chickens and keep the child out of the areas the chickens poop in. Is the aggressive one aggressive towards humans? If so you may think about rehoming that one. Congratulations again!!
