Hi,

Just want to take a moment to introduce myself! I am Katie. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful daughters. Gracelynn is 6 years old and Emilee is 5 months old today! Our animal family consists of a 2 year old boxer named Roxie, 2 kitties.. Bella and Lola, 3 unnamed Golden Laced Cochin chicks, 2 African Dwarf frogs, and one snail. I am into animal rescue, so at any given time I have a spare cat or dog here that I am trying to rehome. Last week alone I rehomed a Mastiff I fostered for 3 months and a stray beagle rescued out of a busy road! I have my NC wildlife rehabilitation permit, so I often rescue birds, rabbits, squirels, ect. Its a lot of fun and very fulfilling for me. I have had chickens before. I had 3 RIR's but the mastiff I was fostering tore into my coop and ate my birds

Now that she is rehomed, I have started my new flock and we are all very excited about it! Gracie, my oldest handles the chicks daily, so I am hoping for some very friendly birds! I cant wait to ad to my flock... I would love to show someday! I attend my local feather fanciers meeting every month and really enjoy it! I would love to make some friends with ppl who have common interests, so feel free to ad me to your friends list or PM me sometime! Thanks for reading!

I'm new and from NC too! We live outside of Benson, NC. We have 2 dogs, 2 kids, and 6 (or 8) buff orpingtons on order from Sumner-Byrd Farm in Holly Springs. Can't wait for them to be here! But first, I need to get to work on my brooder. We're very excited about having chickens.

Hi, Katie! Welcome to the best forum in the world!

There are LOTS of friendly folks on here who love to share the ups and downs, joys and sorrows, and just life in general! You'll love this place... pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee or hot cocoa, and let's get acquainted!
