I am fairly new to chickens and new to BYC. I have been lurking around for a while and learned a ton. picked up 17 chicks a few weeks ago. Its been a blast watching them grow. But they are growin too fast. I need to get my coop built... If the darn weather will permit long enough. I live in West Valley Utah with my wife and 2 kids. We have 2 labs, and keep honey bees. So chickens are the new venture. Thinking that maybe next year we will try a couple of ducks. anyways.... I am looking forward to enjoying the chicks, and even attepting to hatch a few next year.

Welcome to BYC, from Connecticut!! My husband built our new coop in the coldest, most snowy winter anyone can remember here, you can do it! Now, get off the computer and go grab a hammer!

from Ohio. So glad you joined. Don't use a hammer, use a drill with screws. You are going to want to take something apart and make it bigger. Trust me.
