There are several dedicated silkie threads on BYC mostly by color: Buff silkies, Nothing but Partridge, Paint Silkies, etc. My favorite is simply "Silkie thread." Folks there can probably answer any of your silkie questions plus loads of beautiful pictures. Welcome to Backyard chickens, so glad you joined the flock

i have 1 solid white = male
2 black ( i think) = girls
1 partridge (i think) he was a total surprise color) = male
thank you!! for the welcome

I have been trying to find info on beak injuries.
I am new (a few months) to having my first Silkies ever.
I have 2 black ( I think) and 1 solid white and 1 Partridge? (which is a total surprise).
Today I had to pull out a staple that was embedded in the bottom beak and thru the bottom
of her tongue and both ends were hooked. It was heart breaking.
It took me a while to get it out, I was trying so hard to be easy and slow.
i did get it out whew thank the Lord..
she is doing fine so far, it had to have hurt but no infection noticed.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I hope your silkie with the poorly beak is ok. I would just keep checking for infection incase any develops. Good luck with her. Be sure to ask any questions you may have, the forum is very diverse with a section for all your questions.

Enjoy BYC, everyone here to help and very friendly :frow
