woohoo she is healing faster than a snake can strike!
she almost has no evidence of the staple.. (only yesterday i took it out)
i am so thankful !!!!
she seems to be eating ok and has been outside with me all day
yesterday and today foraging .. go go baby girl

only been 2 days now since the extraction of the huge staple in her mouth.. i will post pics in a few days..
she is doing great and i think she is about to lay me an egg hehehe yahhhh
there is almost no sign of the injury inside and outside of her beak and tongue...
it was very deep causing a gash going from.. hooked underneath her bottom beak wrapped around inside her bottom beak
then hooked inside the underneath her tongue and was hooked inside of her tongue ughh
i hope that is understandable language lol
i have never had to do anything like that for a chicken..
i was praying the whole time... thinking i would have to kill her for her own sake
she is so sweet never ever a peck at me or aggression
she had lost enough weight that she was probably at least a couple pounds lighter than her twin sister.. i knew something had to be wrong
now she can eat and drink all on her own and if you looked at her you could not see that anything ever happened to her

can someone give me the thread where i can post about my silkie male and thanks
he (gizmo i call him gizzie) will follow me like a pet dog around the yard but he still attacks me at the drop of a hat ughh
he is full of personality BUT i have to watch my back
he seems to not want to leave my side but then bites me.. like on my ankle or knee grrr

all my (4) silkies are the same age and have the same father a white silkie which the mother and father are sweet silkies..
i have hand raised them all 4 together and they are inside chicks and only go outside with me but come right back in with me
when i come inside... soooo afraid of a cat or something getting them or hurting them...
i cant even bring myself to eat the 5 eggs they have laid ... the eggs are not fertile because the partridge male
has not done his duty lol .. the white aggressive male would love to do his duty to the girls but i dont want to breed him because of his temperament ugh
i want to breed my partridge with my 2 black females because he can be handled with no problems, he is sweet
... thinking about re-homing him since he is an excellent protector ..
every time he is aggressive to me or tries to mount the girls, i grab him and pick him up and i say no in a deep voice and carry him for a
few minutes and then set him down and pat his bottom.. i have read this is the way to let the male know that YOU are the alpha male over him
