Just figured that I would say hello. I'm inexplicably fond of Galliform birds, particularly pheasants and peafowl, and this site seems to have quite a wealth of info on the subject so joining was a no-brainer. I don't have any birds of my own as I don't have the property on which to keep them, someday perhaps...in the meantime I figure I should at least educate myself further. Cya Around!

Welcome to BYC. We have a Pea-hen that needs a good home. She is very sweet, but she is all we have left from a small group of Pea-fowl. We live a wooded area next to a creek. Lots of predators at night. When the other Pea-fowl didn't want to go into the coop for the night they disappeared one by one. This Pea-hen prefers the coop at night and that is why she is still around. She is our gift to you if you want to come get her.

You might want to post in your state's thread in this link.

I appreciate the offer, but right now I have nowhere to keep any birds as I currently live in an apartment complex....although my lease doesn't *specifically* say "No Peafowl" hmmmm loopole perhaps? j/k ;)
Yeah unfortunately, it'll probably be a long while before I can have any birds of my own.
