I have a gorgeous mini jack who is about 34 inches high. He is very sweet, runs to the fence when you come home, always wants to be loved on by the fam, etc...But, he is pretty aggressive with the ladies. Well, I recently purchased a bred jenny, and my jack is trying very hard to "get married" (as my 5 and 8 year olds call it), but of course she wants nothing to do with him. We had to move her away from him because she was kicking the tar out of my poor jack. He either didnt care, or just didnt get the point. Well today, when I was brushing him, he was ever so gently nibbling on me. What is this: is he mad because I took his new girl away, and was thinking about biting me, is it just affection, or is it what I think, and he was trying to make me go into heat.

I have a little miniature filly and she does this to me all the time. She doesn't bite hard, but just nibbles and plays with your clothing and shoes..anything she can get. I was wondering the same thing, what is this? Is it something that should be stopped/corrected?

Don't let him nibble, even if he does it sweetly. It progresses very quickly to biting. You do NOT want to be the object of his sexual frustrations. Let them get acquainted with one another through a fence. Once she begins showing him her rear and peeing, she is in heat and feeling receptive.

Nibbling isn't always the same with girls. I still don't tolerate it because it isn't respectful behavior. They girls are allowed to rub lips on me, but no pinching or pulling, even of clothing.

You correct her AS she is doing it. As soon as she puts her mouth on your clothes, firmly push her muzzle away and tell her no. If she persists, you must keep it up and withhold the pleasurable activity. No treats or petting when being bratty. The good news is that girls are usually much less mouthy than boys. Most are easy to break.

Thank you SoccerMom. And, thanks for the pics; your little ones are great. I want a chocolate one, just gorgeous. Im jealous. I am goigng to try to figure out how to post pics some day?

Everytime he would nibble, I would make him stop. He has never did this before; just every now and again he would rub his lips on me. At the time he would nibble, I was thinking he was just testing the water & I was about to get a big ole bite. Then later I started to put 2 & 2 together and thought I had better ask. So, I should concluded Ace is frustrated. Well what a pig, I guess the 2 jennys he currently has just isnt enough. lol Thanks Again!
