Maybe this is a silly question but here goes. Black Silkie Hen hatched out babies about two weeks ago.. Her and the babies are in the brooder together. Every time I place my hand inside the brooder to change water, give feed, clean, etc this hen now wants to try pecking me and even biting. I know she's a great mommy and protective of her babies but it's getting ridiculous. I suppose she now sees me as a threat. This hen was once the biggest pet of the flock and gentle as can be. Is this normal behavior? If not how can it be stopped or at least make her understand I'm not out to hurt her babies. LOL
