Are Night Crawlers safe to feed chickens?

Well, if you feed those nightcrawlers to your birds...your birds will get.....worms!!

Late April Fools! Your chickens will love any worms you feed them, except perhaps a tapeworm.

Hmm, I'm not aware of that one. Diseases can be found everywhere and your chickens can and will eat such things. If their immune system is strong, they will have more strength to fight various diseases/parasites/bad bacteria/etc. Feeding fermented feed can help. Perhaps you don't care to raise nightcrawlers for your birds to eat, but if they find one in their free ranging, they'll gladly gobble it up, likely without any ill effect.
