I have a hen who is healing from an ulcer that was creating by fly strike. Ugh. The wound is looking so much better. We are about 1 1/2 weeks out. Maggots are long gone. I was told, over the phone, by a vet's office that it was ok to use nitrofurzone on the wound as long as the hen is not raised for meat. What about an egg layer? I just got the Nitro Zone today, and I don't even think I will need to use it. At this point, for future knowledge, what do we know about topical use of nitrofurzone and egg laying hens? Are the eggs ok to eat? Or how long until they are safe to eat? thanks!

I would say to not eat the eggs for awhile while treatment is going on. I have read not to eat meat birds that have been treated with it. Found nothing on egg withdrawal.
