I have 5 chickens, a little over a year old. There egg production did go down in the winter but didn't stop. I was a way for a week of summer camp and they were laying fine when I got back but this week they just stopped. Not one egg from any of them. I have been getting 5 a day, sometimes only 4. It is the middle of summer, very long days, they are on layena. I do have a dog outside but that isn't new. They are acting normal even going into the laying area daily as usual, just leaving nothing but huge piles of poop, I thought that was weird too, they don't usually do that in there. Can the heat make them stop laying? Some of them still havn't grown back all of the feathers they lost, but for everyone of them to stop laying one day at the same time seems weird to me. I don't see eggs anywhere else either. Any help would be good, I was wondering how long to put up with it till they get replaced. That has the kids worried about who they are eating in there soup...
