No eggs help!!

I've had my hens New Hampshire reds an Rhode Island reds since April. The man I bought them from said he bigger ones should be laying in a few months. I've been feeding poultry feed and laying mash plus cracked corn. We checked the pelvic bone and the bigger ones my husband can get three fingers in between the pelvic bone and two in the little ones. Why aren't they laying?

Are you sure that they do not have hidden nests? Pelvic spread indicates that they should be laying.
