What sort of padding do you have under your perches? Yesterday I found a perfectly fine looking egg under a perch, no cracks whatsoever, but when I candled it in the house I found a totally detached rolling air cell. That is the first time I've ever seen that from one of my own eggs, usually I only see it in shipped eggs.

Just a nice high pile of fresh steaming... no, just kidding. Most of my perches are over six feet high and the ones that are clean underneith are just sand or dirt. I have one pen I haven't gotten cleaned yet and the poo I think does cushon the eggs that do fall. As long as they don't hit a rock or large pebble they seem to do ok. I have two developing in the incubator that I have glued, one is due to hatch Monday.

So far the perch bombs, and I do write 'PB' on the eggs, have had as good of developing rate as the eggs layed on the ground. I guess I will get that straw under the perches one of these days, maybe after our wedding Sunday...
