No Injury YET - Oleander in yard

I wouldn't worry about the oleander unless you have very, very small children who go around chowing down on the landscape.

Oleander tastes like battery acid. Trust me. Flakeychick and I have a lot in common.

It also dilates your pupils when you get it in your eyes, and as Eggs4sale and I both learned from experience, it can make your vision very funny for a while.

Nevertheless, very few animals will willingly eat it.

werecatrising, people plant oleander because it is a very nice plant to screen off neighbor's yards that you do not want to look at. It has beautiful flowers, it is drought tolerant and requires almost no water once established, and it blooms for an exceptionally long period. Well worth a few stomach-pumpings and visits to the opthamologist.
