No More Feather Shedding with Soy-Free Feed

Oh no..a vast cloud of stinky smoke just blew in..there are mountains in this shot..I was out cleaning the coop, I could actually smell the smoke..apparently a cool front brought all the western states’ fire smoke to salt lake just now..smells like a cigarette butt out there..
Now you know what we smell every day in fire season 😅

I'd lean more toward coincidence not correlation.
Well, you're likely right. A way to test would be to put them back on the soy feed until they start another natural feather shedding, then quickly put them on the soy free to see whether the feather shed is interrupted or continues.

I’ve been feeding the organic Modesto Milling non corn, non soy starter crumbles, got a small test bag (one kind) of their organic layer whole grain, looks amazing, I’ve put a handful into their crumbles w some other stuff, they love it..pick it out like treats..here are some pics for your files..
I didn’t know Modesto milling made a whole grain! Maybe I can quit ordering scratch & peck. My feed store can likely get this for me. How do you like it?

Mmmm! It’s delicious! Lol..they’re 17 weeks, this is a first small test bag. I’ve put some handfuls into the starter crumbles, so far they pick out all the layer grains and compressed alfalfa first like treats..when they start laying I’ll report back..but, it looks awfully nice, at least from an eye appeal standpoint, the list of ingredients looks good..
