"No need to quarantine?" New chickens

From what I've read, in Practical Poultry, the British poultry magazine. The Mareks vaccine is not 100% effective. I can't find the issue off hand. I do save the back issues.

TSC has switched dealers and they no longer carry it. I guess I'll have to spring for the $81 a year to get it in the mail. Not something I can afford right now.

I'm fairly sure I quoted the article on here somewhere.

Anyhow it seems to me a waste to pay for the vaccine and then have even one bird get sick. Might as well opt for a natural immunity to it. Is there such a thing?

Tim, this thread has so many answers for that question. There are those who say vaccinations weaken birds and others who say they are necessary. This is a very civil and interesting thread where all aspects of this are discussed.
