No offense

Typical rooster. Ask the other neighbors and make it an informal poll as well. Someone will know who owns him and will also be ticked. Probably a situation where someone bought chicks and wanted hens for eggs but got a rooster in the mix. At the very least they could confine him in an insulated, dark coop until a decent hour. At best, rehome the noisy devil.

I have 6 roosters, but I live in the sticks.

Totally agree with you on this one. Try to talk to the neighbor and don't just call the cops first. You will ruin what ever relationship you have with your neighbor and it could get pretty ugly. so please consider talking with the neighbor 1st then if that doesn' work then go to the next step.

Would you not want ur neighbors to communicate with you first before they went and 'told' on you. Isn't that being childish. No offense and I am sorry for your health problems but try to do the proper thing here.

It would be much easier to knock on the door and talk to the neighbor than to call the cops...Heck anyone can pick up the phone and call the law, be a good neighbor and go next door and and talk to them like an adult....ps Look at all the time you have wasted on here when you could have done knocked on the door......

There is no reason to find the rooster. I guarantee that you wont get the answer you are looking for - from him. You need to knock on the door of the property owner and speak with him.

Most people here on this forum have had issues with zoning/neighbors. Most - if not all, would have welcomed the opportunity to resolve the problem, had someone approached them in a responsible manner.

Hopefully the OP will be able to work something out after she can find the owner. If not, then yes, she has every right to contact the authorities.

Ok, I found the cock, his people did not answer the door, so I was not able to confront them. I called the cops and they are on their way. I hope that the bird is made to be quieter, and I do not much care how. At this point I am in favor of the stew pot, though this is a knee jerk reaction, and probably not the kindest response.
P.S. Thank you Katy and Ranch hand for replying to JJparke for me, I am not in the best space to do so at the moment, and likely would have made myself look like a very unreasonable person LOL.

That is sad. You have had this problem for over 2 weeks and instead of going to the neighbors before now you just called the cops. this is why I am so glad I live in the country and have no nearby neighbors to complain.
Again I am sorry for your health problems but it is NOT the roosters fault. He is an animal and I am sure one beautiful bird. I myself LOVE the sound of my boys crowing in the morning and throughout the day and early evening.

I am sorry for the rooster that will have to leave because of this. I think you should have tried harder to work it out with the neighbors. I mean really going to look for the rooster, is he going to answer you and stop crowing because you want him to. Sorry but they won't do that. and you went to the neighbors house 1 time in 2 weeks. REALLY!

I just talked to the Sheriff and he told me that we are just barely outside city limits, but because this cock roams freely between 3 yards that they can get someone in to take it away. Yay me! Maybe now I will be able to sleep. The owners of all 3 possible culprits would not answer their doors to me to talk it out, as I did try to do, so now they get to lose the bird, I hope. Good riddance. Sorry but I am very angry at this point. Not only is this person being a very bad neighbor, but is unwilling to answer the door to talk it out. BTW, it is not because they are at work or whatever, I saw lights and movement inside of all 3 residences. They knew I was there to complain about the bird I am sure, (they probably get that all the time, as noisy as this bird is), and did not want to deal with yet another annoyed neighbor. Well now they get to deal with animal control impounding their bird.
