No oil gland!

When one of my silkies was young she got injured somehow and tore most of the skin off her lower back. Just recently I noticed that she has no oil gland. Is there some type of oil that I could put on her feathers after I give her a bath? Her feathers are a mess.

I have heard very good things about coconut oil. It is available at Walmart in the pharmacy and cooking oil area.
