No-one told me just how completely relaxing it would be to watch chickens in the yard!......I have had my hens for about 2 months now and let them free range for the afternoon and evening, and I make a point of sitting out with them, and with my husband each evening and just enjoying the end of the day.
I really have to say that I think chickens are good for my health
..... I feel like I had a mini vacation when I come back into the house each evening!,
Tonight my dogs got to hang out with the chooks (supervised of course) and us, for the first time face to face after 2 months and I couldn't hope for a better result, the chickens showed us all that this was their territory and the dogs were more than happy to just hang out as spectators with us. Just really am enjoying being a chicken owner completely, even though right now we are only getting one egg a day .......happy happy hen lady !

I also like spending time with my animals, and yes, they're good for your health, I also keep them in part not just for the healthy eggs and flesh of the non-pet-grade ones but also for the de-stressing qualities of them.
