No Roosters

Our county allows hens but no roosters if you have less than 5 acres. We purchased 12 chicks this spring, one was a rooster, he went to a friend’s farm. I see no way around this, hens make enough noise without a rooster. Anybody else have same problem.

I'm glad you found a good home for him. I am happy I live on land zoned for agriculture, because I love my roosters.

I too have been making neighborhood friends with gifts of eggs and honey. Our girls make a lot of noise.

We got lucky, there's another family across a field here in town with chickens and a rooster so when we got our chickens moved over here no on said any thing, plus the "city" I live in has about 379 people in it so there's no one to really complain! Lol! I love my little rooster I'm glad we live somewhere where we can have him!
