Henny has been sitting for a few days (on her adopted clutch of 4), but she's kicked all the shavings out of her nest box

.

It has been a little hot here, is that why?

Should I replace them?

If she kicked them out, I would say don't put anymore in. We all know that chickens can be stubborn so if you put more in she will probably just kick them out again. She may have kicked them out because of the heat like you said, but, if she is happy I would say let it be.

I would replace them with hay. You probably have shaving in the coop & their use to scratching around in the coop. Add a few fake eggs so they will know where the eggs go. I always replaced & mine always lay their eggs in the boxes.
