Nook question about buying books

Hey for those of you who have a Nook --- how do you buy books on it?

My BIL got SIL a new Nook for C-mas, and we were gonna get her some kind of gift card but we have been procrastinating lol! If I got her a Barnes and Noble gift card could she use it to buy books for her new toy?? I didn't get any answers from their website, and I wanted to be sure before I spent my money there.
Yeah yea, last minute shopping I know!

Yes, she can use a B&N gift card to buy books for the Nook. 2 of my nieces are getting Nooks for Christmas and each is getting a gift card from us as part of their gifts, and I asked specifically at the checkout counter before I loaded the cards up.
