Normal Behavior?

i have four 3 month old Black Australorp pullets. They just recently started chasing or should I say charging after one an other in a upright stance with neck feathers puffed out. It's kinda funny actually.
I think, still new to this, that they are trying to set the pecking order. Am I correct??

At that age, yes, pecking order stuff. Pullets don’t do it a lot, they seem to sort it out fairly soon, but cockerels keep going at it with much more vigor. Still, both male and female will do that.
