Hello, my duckling is 8 days old and is currently living in her own due to her friend sadly passing away yesterday (we are getting her a new friend tomorrow). She is eating lots, drinking lots and talking lots. I have found that ever since the loss of her friend she is sitting down more and sleeping quite a lot more (she will fall asleep as soon as she sits on me). Last night was her first night alone and she was constantly peeping for me to get her out and cuddle her, resulting in her (and me) not getting much sleep. She has niacin supliments in her water and eats lots of chick crumbs (unmedicated). Is this unusual behaviour? I'm kind of nervous as her friend went down hill so quickly and I really don't want the same thing to happen to her (although her friend didn't have the same symptoms at all really). Thanks x

:welcome She is probably lonely. Give her a mirror so that she has someone to 'talk' to.
She has a mirror and a stuffed toy I kind of hope that she is just a bit lonely and not ill because it can all be sorted by tomorrow once I have the new duckling. Is this typical behaviour of a lonely duck then? Thanks
