I notice my Bared rocks are not eating as much of their feed and I am wondering if it is because it is summer.

I feed them the as follows:
First when out of coop, early morning, I give them 1 sardine (3 hens),for protein. Sometimes with hemp seed.

They get Kalbach Special Reeserve. My hens do not like crumble or pellets. (I know spoiled and finicky). What is funny, they will not eat the seed from a bowl, tray, dish or even rubber mat, it must be tossed into the dirt.

Then they get during the day something fresh, either corn on cob, kale, broccoli slaw or shredded cabbage.

During the day, occasionally I give them mealworms, just a few.

Not daily, I do have co post worms, they get once in a while, they LOVE those.

That's it.

I have 2 water dispensers with ACV and water.

Mot of the day they forage in my yard.

Is it normal for hens not to eat as much of their feed during summer?

Birds eat less in the extreme heat. Sounds like yours have you well trained.
Thank you. Our weather is weird, it fluctuates. One day it is foggy and cool, another it can be sunny and warm.
