I have one 23 week old pullet who is much louder than the rest. When the rest are making sweet little cooing/bwacking sounds while scratching around, she has her head in the air squawking, loudly. I get that she is squawking when she wants to be let out of the pen to free range, but when free ranging she also squawks. Or maybe she only squawks when I'm in hearing and it is actually a form of begging for treats. It is ok for her to be noisy, but I hate that she might be unhappy, or wanting something that I don't know enough to give her. Does this sound familiar? Do you have squawkers or cooers? She has yet to lay an egg (she's a partridge rock).........
