North East GA Poultry Show

I was wondering if anyone has been to the North East Georgia Poulty Show in Jefferson,GA? How is the show's quality? Do people sell their poultry there? Thank you in advance!

I have been every time and it's a good show. There are always birds for sale at all shows. There is also a show in Monroe in October.

Last time I went I had car trouble! But I got to meet some BYC people so it was fun.

I'm thinking about entering a couple of birds. Anyone know how to go about doing that?

There are several good posts in here about showing, and some cute vidios on UTUBE about washing birds, one of them are some 4 hers washing thier birds..I think it helps people to see how its done. pick according to the standard your best birds ect... It is pretty much universal now that birds must be pullorum tested and those papers must be sent in with entries, some require vet certs as well. just depends on your state laws. I think learning to balance the bird on your hand makes them relax a bit, I think it would be a good topic in here with pics ect... But you dont see to many articles about it. It helps to keep the bird from freaking out.some birds are just skittish but it does calm them if they are balanced.maybe there is an article in here about it.

this year I just fell in love with the blue wheaten pair that was next to my birds. I really wanted to talk to thier owner but she was working also and didnt get off till pretty late to pick up her birds. her rooster was cute as a button. What a great time touring everybodys birds! There are 2 big shows in our area right now, NYS But I have to work during both. One has fantastic awards and large cash pays too. Its fingerlakes poultry club. They get really nice ribbons and trophys and APA judges usually from out of state. Boy I wish I could go.. I have 2 birds that I know could do well and are show ready. But gotta do what you have to do. I think thats why I get such a kick out of seeing the shows people post in here.
