Actually, I can’t allow them in the same space until they reach a certain size. However, we have more than 10 feral chickens in our yard, after a neighbor moved away a few years ago, and left two or more chickens. These are their descendants. The males look like Jungle Fowl, and the females look like bantam and standard Australorps. The cats pay them no mind. And when a hen is raising chicks, as long as they stay close to her, the cats leave them alone.Welcome to BYC!! I’m just wondering do the cats get along with the chickens?![]()

Thanks so much. I just had one of the feral hens in my yard get killed about a week ago by a possum, only a couple days after her chicks hatched. They make their nests right on the ground. So I again just had to rescue 7 baby chicks. I’m trying to find them a home right now. This is my fourth rescue from my yard. (North Florida)Welcome. Thank you for saving the clutch of eggs.
