North Texas Newbie

[Sunset Point]

Greetings all!
New to the site and located in north Texas. We built some raised beds for our garden this year and now adding chickens to the mix. I'm in the process of building a 4 x 8 coop with six nesting boxes and will add an additional 8 x 12 attached run. When it's finished I'll post some pics to get your input. Excited about this...I was raised on a 126 acre farm and miss the satisfaction of not being totally reliant on commercial produce and eggs.

No chickens yet. Didn't want to put them into temporary housing until I got the permanent coop finished. Should be another week or two to finish it. I'll then get my pullets from a local here for free. Said she has a lot of teenagers. .lol
Once that's done I'll start on the run.
