I took my Roo to the vet (he raises chickens himself) and he told me that mites occur in nature and that you'll always have them at one or another.
He sold me a bottle of Frontline spray (like the stuff you use for fleas and ticks on you dog or cat) and told me to spray every chicken behind the comb, under each wing, and above the rump. The natural oils in their skin will help the Frontline to coat the whole body. Even if they are still in the coop they will not be able to stay on the chickens. I have to do this once every three months. You can continue to eat the eggs, too.
It's alot easier than dusting everything and everyone!
