Hello,
does anyone know what the base color is of Norwegian Jaerhons? To me it doesn't look like barring over wildtype/gold duckwing like most other autosexing breeds. Has anyone ever done a test mating to find out? I'm wondering if it could be barring over a penciled type background? (Birchen = Db/Db and Pg/Pg)... The hens remind my of Penciled Hamburgs or Campines might look like if they also had barring.
Any thoughts?

I can't really answer your question specifically but I had both light yellow and dark brown plus a 'flame' from Sandhill that looked like the black and white hen on the right about 3/4 of the way down the following page. The last picture before the chick pics.
