Thanks for the warm welcome and great adviceLove, love, love!Welcome to BYC! You are in the right place. That was me and my husband last year as well. Started with chickens... Plus a few more chickens.... And then throw in ducks!?? Lol the crew keeps growing, but I want to move to a place where we can keep horses and sheep as well.

The ducks will be fine to sleep on the coop floor, but in the run, you want to have all their pool and stuff to play in. I have seen some designs where they use river rock and even French drains in the duck area so it can be hosed off, and also so the whole run and pool do not get so muddy. You can definitely lean right into building and awesome duck / chicken habitat! Enjoy!
