Here's the problem. We introduced three one and a half month old Barred Plymouth Rock pullets into an existing flock of Orpingtons and red-sex-links around three weeks ago. This flock is all around the same age. We have three Orpington roosters and the rest consist of Orpington and red sex link pullets. Each night at roost time one of the Oprington roosters will not hardly allow the three barred rocks to roost along with the flock and will keep pecking at them until they move far away. Our roost is plenty big enough and actually would hold about 30 total. It's a three tier roost around five foot long. They all roost on the top tier which is four foot high. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to stop him from doing that? Or, best just ignore it? He will peck them until they move to the very edge then continue until they fall off the edge and does this until it gets so dark he can no longer see them. He doesn't peck hard enough to draw blood just doesn't want them on the roost it seems. That's when I pick them up off the ground and sit them back up on the roost. This has been going on for about a week now and frankly it's getting old.

We have another flock and have introduced new members into that flock and luckily have not had any problems. It's just this one young lad that's a trouble maker so far. We will be adding Rhode Island Red and Australorp pullets to this flock in about a month and who knows how it will turn out, LOL!

I'd probably pull the roo aside just before dusk, let everyone go to roost and then add him to the roost once it's too dark for him to see. Try that for up to a week and see if it helps a bit.
