I have flock of Silkies and 1 BCM. Those of you with Silkies know they really don't roost overnight, they sort of huddle on the ground. My BCM roosts. Isabelle, one of my Silkies apparently was under Cossette (BCM) overnight and this morning was covered in poo. I mean COVERED. It's 0 degrees here with a high of like 8. I'm not letting anyone out and not opening the door to the coop. It's windy plus there is snow on the ground and they won't come out anyway. It's just as cold in the coop. I do have a heating panel incase someone needs to warm up, but I don't see them under that too often.

Anywhooo. . .I brought Miss Isabelle inside to give her a bath. She is now resting in a warm spot in my kitchen having blueberries and warm oatmeal and some fresh spinach. (I trimmed her nails and nipped her, that's the blood) My intention is to keep her inside until she is completely dry, but then I started thinking I better ask here for advise about taking her back out to the frozen tundra. How should I handle this?

Do you have a hair dryer to help get her dry?

I'm sure it's nice and warm inside, so you'll want to acclimate her back to cold.

Once she's completely dry, start moving her to cooler areas, like the coldest room of the house, garage, etc. So she isn't shocked from going back to 0 degree weather.

Yes, she has been bathed and blown dry, but you know still was a bit damp in spots so I wanted to keep her inside probably at least over night.

Good idea about moving her to cooler areas. I have a foyer that is the colder room inside. We'll go there next, once she is dry. I bet it's 40 degrees in there. I'll have her spend the night there.

What do you think about confining her to the area of the coop where the heating panel is? It is by no means warm under there, but maybe we go there first once we move out of the house?

Sounds like a good plan.
Yes, when I took her back out, I'd put her in the coop where the panel is. I don't think you'd have to confine her, she should be able to decide how much she wants to venture from the extra warmth.
