Not eating layer feed?

Morning!

I got my chickens at a week old in late August. I just switched them from chick feed to layer feed, but they aren't eating the layer feed. Does this mean they don't like it, or will they start eating it eventually, or?

I am feeding them green scraps from the house, and homemade bread scraps, but I don't always have those. I just started sprouting and they are eating those very well, too. I'm just concerned that, particularly on days when I don't have scraps from the kitchen, that they aren't getting enough feed.

If they get hungry enough, they'll eat it! You might try mixing some starter feed with the layer feed and making the switch more gradually, too.
