I accidently bough pellets instead of the crumbles in the food I normally get my girls - I put it out today and they wouldn't touch it.. . Will hey eventually get the hang of it or did I just waste my money on 50 pounds of pellets?
thanks

They will eat it eventually, when they get hungry

When I first made the switch from crumbles to pellets, my chickens did the same thing...sorta put their noses up at it. After a couple of days they were gobbling it down and making much less of a mess about it!

My flock is going through the same thing now that the local feed store is switching brands of layer feed. I am mixing my last bag of crumbles with the pellets and they're eating it all now.

Sometimes, they seriously won't eat it at first. Mine started losing weight when we first switched, and didn't eat for nearly a week. Add some hot water to some, and stir gently. It'll create a mix of pellets and mash, and encourages them to start picking at the pellet sized pieces. Do that for a day or two, and they'll get the knack of it.
