Not Eating Pellets

I started giving my hens extra scratch morning and afternoon to distract them from feather-picking. Mostly black oil sunflower seeds. I am hardley ever refilling there food container anymore. I've been throwing the pellets into the run to get them to keep getting the protein they need. Any ideas, is this an issue? they are still laying well.

well i wouldnt really worry bout them eating.because if they get hungry they weill eat their pellets.you may try not giving them treats for a few day.an see if they start eating pellets.

Ours never started eating their pellets. They ate so few - just enough to stay alive - that they stopped laying until we switched back to crumbles.

Just give them the pellets without the scratch, they will eat the pellets when they are hungry.

My hens didn't want the pellets either I guess though they were eating some they still laid everyday. I finally took the food out bought crumbles and gave the pellets to our pigs.

My hens wouldn't eat the pellets either.. had to go back to crumbles....
