So i have a pair of chickens that will not eat the layer food or whole corn. They seem to eat he corn when i crush it for them. We decided to give them the goat food (barley, oats, cracked corn, sun flower seeds, beet pulp, alfalfa) and they seem to enjoy that. Is there anything wrong with feeding them that? Should I switch to another feed? She stopped laying for about 3 weeks, and she gave us an egg today, so i am assuming they are eating and enjoying the goat food. I just want it to be healthy and not bad for them!

Try a different brand of food. I wouldn't keep feeding goat food not the right blend for poultry. On another note don't feed goats old chicken food could kill them it has copper sulfates in it.

Yeah, goats and chickens have different nutritional requirements. Maybe if your chickens like cracked/crushed corn over whole corn, they'd prefer layer crumble instead of layer pellets?

We tried crumbles and they did not seem to like it. I think what i am going to do is crush the corn and the pellets smaller for them as the crumbles may have been too small for them.
