i am new to chickens and my first flock is seven chcieksn. Two are white leghorns who both been laying one egg each for a month now but my other five are not. They are Wyandotte s and Rhode Island reds. They have not laid eggs yet. No Brown eggs only white eggs. They are all 20 weeks old now. Am I jumping the gun on them? How long should it be before I should get Brown eggs?

I think you are jumping the gun. I have 5 different breeds that are 22 weeks old, and haven't seen a single egg yet. (Wyandotte, Golden Comet, Black Australorp, Easter Egger & Cuckoo Maran). The Golden Comet and Black Australorp have had big, red combs for a few weeks now.

The leghorns have huge cones that flap over the side of their faces. The others have increased in size and color but not huge yet. Good new we found one Brown egg today along with our normal two white eggs. So excited. Sone should be bring in half a dozen eggs a day. In a few months when second flock are older I should get at least a dooze. A day. Now to figure out who is laying?
