I am not new to having chickens as we had two flocks about 15 years ago. We started again last week with 16 baby female (supposed to be). 6 Brown leghorn, 3 barred rocks which one of the three is very small and a runt, and 6 Columbian Wyandotts. Freebie they put in is a real treat (not food related but the breed wow). Egyptian Fayioumis.
Late May we are getting 6 Golden lace Wyandotte. Yes we will have separate brooders.
We have 4 cats, they are inside only.
My favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens is having beautiful chickens eating our grass and grubs (plan to do chicken tractor and a fixed run with the coop). Extra benefit is having yummy eggs to share with family.
My other hobbies are doing websites, reading and learning new things

I decided to join because I think this is an awesome community to learn from
