Hi All,

I'm so sad to report that my last two chickens were killed tonight. About 3 months ago, my first girl was killed. We found her in our front yard, feathers around, with one large wound to the back...this was during the day. Tonight we found feathers around the yard and two of my girls dead, same type of wounds. It looked like it could've been a dog or coyote. I don't know how the coop door got opened, BUT both chickens were pretty much whole and in the yard...whatever the predator was, it didn't take the meat with it and maybe was just in it for the kill?? Any suggestions to what this may have been? I live in Southern California.....no eggs were taken from the coop...so I'm doubting it was raccoons. For my next flock I will definitely keep a lock on door.

Thanks!

Sounds like someone's dog, they are the only ones I've heard of that will kill but not take the food with them. They like the hunt. Any tracks?

Very sorry for the lose of your birds.

Put out some flour to check for prints if a game cam is not an option.Very sorry for your loss.
