I have a hen she lays everyday and spring time is pretty much here but i noticed her spending a little more time in the nest box but not fully sitting on the eggs for a day just an hour or 2 she started looking puffed up and wings down but her tail is up she eats and drinks and always loves to go outside but she been running in the coop nd spending more time inside then out she doesnt seem lethargic either

Yeah i do want chicks i dont mind if she goes broody the chicks make more money then the eggs over from where im from but she is my best egg layer and very cost efficient on feed
Hmm.. well, you can wait and see what she does. If she goes broody and you'd rather she not, you can set up a pen to break her.

Ehhh...I have had plenty of birds who 'lounge' in the nest before and after laying,
they can also flare and peck and screech, all without being broody.

But she could be 'pre-broody'.
These are the signs I look for:
Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, doesn't she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?
If so, then she is probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.

No she doesnt

No she doesnt let me touch her just runs away or comes to me for food but she does lay an egg and makes clucking sounds but doesnt go back to the nest but she does flat out and neatens and sorts the eggs everyday i have another hen who does the same thing and lays in the same nest i have 3 other nest for extra room if they do go full broody ill put them in the n3st boxes and close it off so the other hens dont bother them i have more then enough room
