Our second girl had a traumatic incident about a week back. Our dog chased her & cornered her. He didn't hurt her,but she was pretty shaken up. She hasn't laid an egg since, and now she's losing feathers. we don't know if the two are linked. We don't know what to do!
Stress can make a chicken stop laying for a short time and it sounds like she went through an ordeal! I don't know about the feathers though, I wouldn't think they would be related. If you can, pick her up and give her a good looking over, make sure there are no mites or anything like that, make sure her breathing and eyes are good, if everything is good, just give her a little time and maybe some extra protien rich treats to help her replace the feathers.
