I'm dealing with bumblefoot for the first time. My silver-laced Wyandotte was limping and after a quick check I found the unmistakable black scab. I bundled her up, soaked her foot for ten minutes in Epsom salts, and dug out the bumble. There was no oozing or discharge, just a pink crater under the scab. I treated it with Vetericyn, then covered it with Neosporin, gauze, and Vetwrap. I've been changing it every two or three days, wiping it down with chlorhexidine, spraying with Vetericyn, and reapplying the Neosporin, gauze, and Vetwrap. The first picture is before treatment and the second picture is after two weeks. Is that a healthy scab or do I need to go back in with a scalpel? It's still a little swollen, but it's not hot and she isn't favoring it as much as she was before I started.
