So my Barred Rock passed away yesterday from Egg Binding, and I was wondering if the other chickens notice when one is gone and if they miss her? We only have 4 others. I noticed yesterday my Rhode Island Red going in and out of the coop as if she was looking for my Barred Rock. So do they notice and miss her? And also, immature question. I'm super depressed about the loss of my Barred Rock. And I was wondering, she would want me to be happy right? Also, do animals go to heaven (for those who believe)? Anyways that's my 3 random questions. Thanks!

Yes, they miss a flock member when it is gone, but it won't be for long. Yes to being happy. We are mot much good to anything around us if we are not happy. Animals in Heaven-It is hard for me to believe any other way. I refuse to believe that God would send us anywhere that we can't truly be happy and that wouldn't happen for many of us without animals. Be at peace.

Im sorry for your loss, i know that gut wrenching feeling of losing one of your feathery friends. To answer your questions, i would say that your other chickens probably notice that the barred rock is gone and are probably a little sad. But they will move on, just like other things in life. Also, i belive that all animals do go to heaven, and that they have a special realationship with god. This is why i think they will be able to move on, because god has told them that their friend has moved on and is happy. I will keep you and your feathery friend in my prayers and best wishes for your flock.
