Not sure what to do about my chicks eye

I had three RIR chicks. One was a male. Well he plucked one female to pieces. So we took him out.
The female is growing back in her feathers.
Well about a month ago, I noticed her eye on one side was way sunk in. I figured that he got her eye too and I just didn't notice it before he left.
Well a month later and now her eye is bulging out, reddish, no eye that I can see, just a reddish white, wattery look.
No drainage.
Should I just give antibiotics? I don't know if I should try and wash it out and hurt her worse. She doesn't act in pain.

Thanks. Terry

I don't know what happend to your chicken, but I know some variant of Fowl Pox can cause swelling eye.Maybe you can do some research and figure it out.
Good luck!

Can you post a picture? It sounds similar to what happened with a couple of my ducks a few weeks ago. http://lallybrochfarms.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-many-eggs-video-april-2012.html

They seemed to have a bacterial infection, which is common to mating ducks, if you are keeping them together with other fowl, it might be related??? Just a thought.

Hope it heals soon!

Thank you for your link. http://www.natickpediatrics.net/?p=232
I found this info and I am just going to use some triple antibiotic ointment on her tomorrow. God Bless

I went to put neosporin in the eye this morning and the swelling is less. No discharge at all. Not even watery. Just looks like a white and red membrane with fluid under it. OH MY anyone know what might be happening? Remember I said a month ago, her eye was way sunk in?

Did you dose her anyway? What was the result?
