Have 9 hens that are 6 months old and just starting to lay. Some still do not use the roost at night but sleep in the corner of the coop. About half of the eggs are in the nest boxes and the other half are around the coop in the litter. I have blocked off the dark area under the roost droppings board but they still lay in different spots around the coop floor. Any thoughts? Thanks

Keep a few eggs in the nests to show them that's where they go. Chickens tend to like a quiet, darkish place to lay. so make sure your nests are providing that. Can you show a photo of your nest boxes and where they are in the coop and a photo of your roost? You can try going in after dark and placing each chicken on the roost. You may have to do that for a few nights.
